An industrial visit to Russia, the world’s largest nation, which borders European and Asian countries as well as the Pacific and Arctic oceans. Its landscape ranges from tundra and forests to subtropical beaches. It’s famous for Moscow’s Bolshoi and St. Petersburg’s Mariinsky ballet companies. St. Petersburg, founded by Russian leader Peter the Great, has the baroque Winter Palace, now housing part of the State Hermitage Museum’s art collection.

Tourism in Russia has seen rapid growth since the late Soviet times, initially with domestic tourism and then international tourism. Rich cultural heritage and great natural variety place Russia among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Not including Crimea, the country contains 23 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, with many more on UNESCO’s tentative lists.

Major tourist routes in Russia include travelling around the Golden Ring of ancient cities, cruises on the big rivers including the Volga, and long journeys on the famous Trans-Siberian Railway. On this industrial visit to Russia, you’ll experience diverse regions and ethnic cultures, offering many different foods and souvenirs and showcasing a great variety of traditions, including Russian Maslenitsa, Tatar Sabantuy, and Siberian shamanist rituals. In 2013, Russia was visited by 33 million tourists, making it the ninth-most visited country in the world and the seventh-most visited in Europe.
